Job Description:
A Certified Medication Technician (CMT) is a trained healthcare professional responsible for administering medications to patients under the supervision of licensed healthcare providers, such as registered nurses or physicians. CMTs are essential in ensuring the safe and accurate delivery of medications in various healthcare settings, including nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and home care. With specialized certification and training, they play a key role in supporting patient health and well-being while adhering to established safety protocols and regulatory standards.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepare and administer medications to patients under the supervision of licensed healthcare providers.
- Document all medication administrations accurately in patient records.
- Monitor patients for any side effects or adverse reactions to medications.
- Maintain medication inventory and ensure medications are stored properly.
- Follow all regulatory guidelines and safety protocols for medication handling.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Completion of a State-Approved Medication Technician Training Program:
- Successful Completion of the CMT Competency Exam
- Successful Completion of a Criminal Background Check
